AAS Medical Assisting

Medical Assisting is an allied health profession whose practitioners function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and clinical procedures. The Medical Assisting program is established upon the Standards and Guidelines for an Accredited Educational Program for the Medical Assistant as identified by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) which emphasizes a competency-based education in administrative, clinical, and transdisciplinary skills.
